PCT 8/15/17 – Day 104

30 miles – Today is Day 1 of our road detour around the Mt. Jefferson fire. Our goal from the beginning has always been to keep this journey a true thru-hike. This dreaded 50 mile road walk to some, turned out to be a really awesome adventure for us!!

Hiking off the PCT down to the road.
Ambassador’s cruise ship of a breakfast: a layer of potatoes, chicken fried steak, 2 giants biscuits smothered in gravy and topped with 2 eggs sunny side up. Later that afternoon, he topped everything off with a 1/2 gallon of cookie dough ice cream.
2nd stop of the day in Idanha, OR!
Road walks aren’t easy, but I know there will be a day we look back and wish we were on the road headed to Detroit, OR! Today was awesome.
We pitched tent at a small park by the lake. Perfect end to a long day!
The fish were nibbling our feet! Spa day?
