PCT 8/22/17 – Day 111

2,144.4/2,650 miles – Welcome to Cascade Locks!!

This is smoke settled in the valley. Looks like fog at first.
The trail took us to the right of this plume. Jake and I both were having trouble breathing in the smoke. It was pretty tough hiking for a while.
I couldn’t stop taking pictures of Jake in this moment. Too good!
We stayed at a Trail Angel’s house. He calls his place “Shrek’s Swamp.”
Couldn’t get enough of Nelli. Such a sweet dog.
The Eagle Creek fire has been burning out of control so they called in the Super Scoopers! We watched 4 of these planes rotate from the fire to the Columbia River where they scooped up the water. So much fun to watch!
Jake’s parents and Keegan came down to Cascade Locks for dinner! What an awesome welcome to Washington, our home state! We love you guys!!
